HED 69648 Elite headers new

I bought these headers to try to make fit on my truck, but it just didn't work out. The top flange of the frame rail could be clearanced enough, but the collector hits the lower part of the rail alot. Here is a LINKY to the application list thru Summit. I ground on the collector some, but didn't get into the flange of the pipe (as shown in pic). These list for $319.95 thru Summit. I''ll sale them for $250 shipped to the lower 48. I do accept paypal

They're for sale. Do you think they would work since your frame is custom? I can measure between my rails if you need me too.

Scott, I measured between the lower part of the frame even with the front of the tranny pan and it measured 29 5/8". Hope this helps.

Re: HED 69648 Elite headers new

Alan do you know if these will fit a 86 chevy K-10? Also does it come with all the hardware (bolts, gaskets, etc)? If the answer is yes to both questions then I might just be intrested. Thanks, Jamie

Here is a link to the 1986 Chevrolet applications. I will let you determine if they will work or not. And yes it comes complete with gaskets, bolts and collectors. The original box is not sutable for shipping. I will have to round up a box to ship them in.

It will still be tight for you. I hate to say how much I cut out of the lower section of my rail and still needed more. That's why I stopped where I was.

Yeah it might be better to buy a weld-up kit and make them like i was going to that way i can make them clear everything if possible.

Re: HED 69648 Elite headers new

Sad news, I just discovered that these headers are not what they are supposed to be. It looks like I got an old switch-a-roo. I don't know what they are or what they go in other than a SBC.

Re: HED 69648 Elite headers new

I hate to say it, but they look like the $129 eBay specials.
Are they stainless?
How much do you want for them?
And do you know how wide they are bolted to the engine?

I haven't even looked on ebay, but I'm sure your right. I believe they are coated, not 100% sure. I will check tonight when I go out to the shop. I can't give you a correct measurement when bolted to the engine because I can't get them to bolt up completely. The passenger side is almost a perfect fit. I thought about cutting a wedge out of the bottom of each tube at the first bend where it meets the head and pull it in and weld it up and have them coated if they aren't stainless. I'll keep you posted.

Re: HED 69648 Elite headers new

Cool,
I am wondering if they will fit my '80
lots of guys run the 88-98 headers on the 73-87 trucks with slight modification to the lower frame.

Re: HED 69648 Elite headers new

I didn't make it out to the shop tonight. I'll let you know something when I find out. It's been very hard to get back in the groove. I'll get back in the saddle soon I hope. I took the carb off my 55 when I got home and I never made it back outside.
