Rootbeer brown paint 1969?

I am trying to do a little research on a truck that I always liked as a kid, my neighbor had what I think was a 1969 K20 PU. (Still running the OEM wheels he sold my Dad for the burb today, and they are dated with a 1969 code).

I always liked the color of it, but I haven't found a member that has one like it yet? I know it was original, so it is a factory color.

The color IIRC is kind of a metallic medium colored root beer brown with maybe a green tint to it? I don't know, it's be many years...

If you have a picture of 69 or 70 K20 with this color I'd love to see it.

Nope, that's not it.
The color I am looking for is darker, with no reddish color to it.
Man, this is gonna drive me crazy now. I have been diggin for pictures of 69/70 colors, and I haven't found it yet...

I think that is Dark Gold, paint code 527, (2204)
It is a 1970 color. Not listed as a 69. Hope that helps.

Yea, I would agree with the dark gold description.
I just couldn't think of a description at the time other than root beer.


Man, if I could find a 1970 K20 long bed with slot mags in this color. I'd buy it...

Yes it is in fact dark gold poly. Great factory, but unique color. I'm so tired of red, yellow, orange.

Useta have a van that the po painted a Caddilac Chesterfield Brown.(69-70?) That color was beautiful. Thought maybe that was what you were looking for?

That one looks like the Dark Bronze Poly in the paint chips above. It has more of a reddish cast to it.

That kind of looks like the same color of paint on my 69 impala.I dont think too many vehicles got painted that color in 69.
