Decided to go with the dappled look, since I had a old jar of undercoat that went off and left a somewhat chunky solution, seems to have better effect on filling in the pits left by the rust. Now I can look for a grey paint

Sorry for getting my finger in the way

I think I'd have to see it on the truck, and I don't think I'd go with Amber if I did it. Strictly personal preference though.

Thank you all for your p/c and unbridled opinions. I'm going to go with the nay, for now, but I may revisit it with KC lights in the near future

Now onto my front driveshaft, it was rebuilt by a local driveshaft shop. Never really gave it much thought as it never really made any noise, but when they did my transmission they left it out, telling me it was bad. Sure enough, when I took it to the shop, I couldn't believe how sloppy it was, not only twisting at the splines but up and down deflection, so that is my report

OSHA said they couldn't paint it, since they didn't have a spray booth

Re: PO has me PO'd

Use the 3 o'clock position on the cutoff wheel, or it will tend to kick back, basically cut forward

Got to do a little more clean up on the wheel flange, used the old pry remove resistance and roll method with pliers

The angle of the patch panel is no where near what it has to be to fit up with the inner panel

You have to make slices, and then 2 bends to fit up to the inner panel

May have gotten a little ahead of myself, should have left the patch panel large. Don't know if I can weld .120 gap

May not be a total waste of time, I maybe able to use some 70/30 lead tin to fill in the gap left after welding

Started working on my vent windows, rebuild kit from brothers. Disassembly went ok except a couple of spinning heads, which I took care of with my dremel and a new cut off wheel

If you are drilling the rivets out and you don't see shavings stop, and use a new drill bit, if you continue with a dull bit you will only work harden the rivet, more probems

Use a good sharp punch, in the center of the rivet, it will keep your drill from walking, and use a cutting fluid to keep the drill bit sharp

Ordered a new handle with my rebuild kit, used a 3/32 drift pin punch, but you don't have to knock it out all the way, just far enough to get past the groove in the post inthe window
