Electric oil pressure gauge?
I am going to got to a electric gauge from a 72 - ? on my cluster rebuild which will include Camero tach and S10 speedo.
I assume that the sender, which is a variable resister, changes the voltage that the meter 'sees' thus moving the needle. My 'connect and cruise' LS package had an output that gives a variable voltage that goes goes up according to the engine oil pressure. It gives a 0 to 5 volt signal. Could this be used to 'drive' the electric gauge? Thanks |

Re: Electric oil pressure gauge?
Well if you compare it to other attempts to match the older gauges with the newer senders, coolant temp, fuel, mechanical oil pressure, transmission temp etc. The accuracy of the readings has not been too good. If you can utilize the 73 to 78 sender with the right cluster gauge I think it will work.
Conversely if you can mount the newer gauge it should also work. I don't think you want to use the newer style gauge though. There are several style gauges on the aftermarket that have the correct senders as you probably know.
