Like this question, the 2 red plugs on the valve covers..does it matter which gets the PCV valve? I guess one side gets PCV and the or a breather cap?

Drivers side usually had the pcv. Rear of passenger side for breather.
You got a cap on one of them for adding oil?

Yep oil cap is up front on drivers side. Is there a recommended PCV and airbreather part to use on this engine?

That I don’t know.
Any instructions in your manual or info with the motor.
If not then stock stuff should work.

Re: 350 GM Crate Motor questions for a 66 C10

Pretty sure this is right but isnt this HEI diagram and the firing order the same as a the L31?

Im trying to get my distributor and wires worked out to see how things fit. Once the fit is right I need to I think remove the driver side valve cover and rotate the engine to find top dead center before locking down the distributor.

I watched this video and think this is the right way to get it set up on my engine?

On the quadrajet, I would at the very least do a light rebuild with a new accelerator pump and gasket kit. You can get as basic or as complicated as you want with the rebuilds. The ethanol fuel really does a number on those old pumps and the newer pumps are made from a better material. I use cliffshighperformance.com for my rebuilds. Check out their SR rebuild kit.
