Christmas Trucks

Let's see the trucks decorated for Christmas.

For those of you who don't check out the "Heavy Haulers" forum, we have a fellow member with the one of the nicest '72 C/50 on the planet. It's red and has a Hodges car hauler body he had them custom build. Yeah, they're all custom, but they normally just do 1 tons. He said they took it on and really enjoyed doing it.

Last Thursday & Friday he put it in the Christmas parade in Woodstock, VA.
Here are a couple pictures:

Re: Christmas Trucks

Did someone say Christmas Trucks??

I started doing this back in 2016. I get tons of looks from people when I'm driving around. Pretty much all smiles

Top two pics are from this year, bottom 3 are from last year

Re: Christmas Trucks

That's fantastic. I love it! I knew there would be some out there for share, static or rolling decorations. I've thought about doing something with battery lights ever since I saw they were made. I think a lot

Re: Christmas Trucks

Thanks Tim!

Here's how she looks in daylight. I used some masking tape to keep the lights on the truck and made sure to keep all the bulbs away from the door and hood openings. Only thing I can't open with the lights is the tailgate.

I used a cigarette lighter power inverter to go from the truck's power to regular house light power. To mount it, I stuck a command strip on the bottom of the dash and on the inverter. It holds well and is easily removable at the end of the year. In prior years, I had been using a large zip tie through one of the holes in the bottom of the dash, but I used that hole earlier this year to install my new speakers. I like the command strip idea better.

1 box of 300 multi color mini lights from Walmart is just enough to go completely around a long bed as long as you get the spacing between lights right.

Great thought. Make it a Christmas yard ornament. Why not?

I love that picture. It's worthy of annual viewing.

Santa just made his annual ride into town past my house last night. I'm about 5 miles out. I always know it's Santa when I hear the sirens fire up from just beyond my house, they are headed to town rather than from. And if it were the VFD out the other way I would have heard them coming from a distance. Never time to get out and grab a picture, but I always make it to the front door to flash the pair of sconces by the front door as a way to give a wave. The fire chief leading the pumper always toots his horn as a wave back. I just love that one moment a year. I don't think I have ever missed it.

Re: Christmas Trucks

[QUOTE=special-K;8641511]Let's see the trucks decorated for Christmas.

I never got around to decorating my 71 I had with Christmas decor,,but I always enjoy seeing others like the ones above all done up with fun stuff ..pretty neat when one can convert DC to AC for lights and to have family in the truck is neat too,, I like all of them shown

My son is a 49ers fan from way back with Joe Montana as QB,,I bought this truck some years ago and it is in the curio cabinet waiting for my son to get his house done and a place to store it away from little Ollie his boy and my grandson 1 1/2 years old..

Anyway ,,I took it out to show it on here it with our Christmas Tree for background

Re: Christmas Trucks

Nice picture. It's a 49er Christmas. Roasting chestnuts on the grille?
