Bought a '78 crew cab

I've been driving by this truck parked in someone's yard for years and I always wanted it. A couple weeks ago they put a for sale sign on it and I got it running and drove it home. I have lots of plans for it but right now I just want to get it back on the road. I've gone through it and got everything working as it should, got rid of the mice, cleaned up the interior, and put some new marker lights and a 73/74 grill on. I'm doing floor pans and rockers now and then it should be good to go. Id like to get it dropped and eventually go a custom interior in it as that's what I do for a living.

Thanks. Ya the interior was done before the guy parked it a few years ago. unfortuantley they just swapped the front seat out. The rear one is the original plaid.

Re: Bought a '78 crew cab

Got the new floor pans and rockers welded in and painted this week. Put some sound deadening in and installed the new carpet. That's pretty much it for now. Need to get some material to redo the front seat so it matches.

Has it spent its whole life in Mass? Looks to be in way too good condition rust-wise for that to be the case.

From what I was told it has. The rockers I cut off when doing the new ones were aftermarket. They still had the stickers on the inside. Someone must have restored it before, overall its in really good shoe for a MA truck. I was told the original owner used it to toe his camper and then the next owner barely used it at all. It had 64,000 miles on it.

Got the truck on the road yesterday and put it right to work. It's been running really well.

I really dig the plaid seat...I hope you match the front to it!

Re: Bought a '78 crew cab

I've had my eye on a '75 CC 454/TH400 for awhile with a bad trans but owner gave me the old "it's been sitting for several years but I'm planning on rebuilding it one day...." speech so I'm still on the hunt for my own round eye CC to build "sigh".

I like how clean yours is...should be an easy build for you-I want to follow this build!
