Re: Retractable hardtop 67-72 pickup

I like that. But I like convertibles of just about all models. It would be interesting to check out how they sealed everything.

I don't normally watch TV, but was flipping channels one time and saw the final video for this truck.

Yep, if you got 2-3 years to wait and six figures worth of $$ you can have just about anything built.

Cool. Not for me, my truck hauls other than butt. I like the paint job, too!

Wonder if it gets stuck in the half down position like my 60 Tbird

Nice work thought

Re: Retractable hardtop 67-72 pickup

I've watched most if not all of the *****in Rides shows and like them. No question they have some serious skills. I only watched them after recording them to reduce the amount of BS.
I do like going for a convertible cruise. We have a 2014 Mustang 5.0 vert and its a great car. There was a small town car show about 25 miles away so we cruised over there to have walk around. Great small town stuff. We we did the long way home of about 40 miles. It was a great cruise.

Re: Retractable hardtop 67-72 pickup

PRETTY TRUCK!!! I never watched much "car build" on TV. Good prof. skills, but the same corny plot... ending with a last minute 2 day thrash to get done before the customer shows up.
I've enjoyed my 2wd '72 Blazer topless for the past 11yrs. since I bought it off of this site. Great climate in central FL. for it. I've been caught in the rain a few times. It's worse in the rain than a regular convt. with the top down. As long as you're driving in a convt. the rain pretty much blows over you. But not in the Blazer, the rain swirls up behind you & wets the windshield on the inside. Gets the back of your head & shoulders too. I've got a hardtop and a fiberglass half-top, both need to be refinished & I've never bothered with it. I got a soft half top from the previous owner & I had it on a few times & and used the A/C. It seals pretty good but it takes me awhile to assemble it & I think it's ugly. I've been kinda thinking a classic convertible might be more practical. I had a pretty serious health crisis in Jan. & I'm still recovering and I'm not driving yet. I was out in the shop today & looked at the Blazer for the first time in awhile. This post about the topless C!0 got me thinkin'.
