Accessory you didn't know you needed - matching canoe

Was cruising FB marketplace and ran across this canoe. I wasn't shopping for a canoe, I've already got one that we use 1-2 times a year.

However this was the exact color scheme of the suburban, and the blues were very close match, so I had to have it. Drove two hours last night to pick it up.

Tossed it on top and and pretty tickled by how it turned out.

Re: Accessory you didn't know you needed - matching canoe

Just added this Smittybilt Defender roof rack and its pretty decent for the price. I used these vintage rack feet I had and I think they look very appropriate. The rack starts to change the look of the rig from 'classic show car' to 'vintage off road vehicle'.

I'm liking that!
Where did you find the drip rail clamps?

Re: Accessory you didn't know you needed - matching canoe

4 came with the suburban. I was trying to figure out how I was going to attach the new roof rack. The company that makes the rack offers a drip rail clamp kit but its another $220.

My dad saw them and said he had some clamps in his shed I could have. He and I don't always agree on car things, especially when it comes to looks. So I was expecting him to come up with some old yakima clamps, but he did have four more of these exact clamps. I spent some time cleaning them up as best I could. I think they turned out great and really look period correct.

Those brackets were made my Quick-N-Easy Products and sold through Northwest River Supply.

It looks like Quick-N-Easy might have went down the tubes as the brackets are no longer available

Well, these sold for way more than they cost new.

Man - I sure would like to find a set of those. They look so right for the burb! I did get a set of 8 of these Smittybilt rain gutter clamps. They work fine, but I sure would like a better looking set -

Re: Accessory you didn't know you needed - matching canoe

Sure post about a canoe and all anyone wants to talk about is my rack mounts.....

I'll have to tell my old man to keep an eye out for more mounts. He still does the flea market and yard sale circuit.

I'm sorry.
But at this point a cool canoe is much easier to find than cool rack mounts. Not to mention cheaper.

Re: Accessory you didn't know you needed - matching canoe

Many thanks to ManNamedJed. Without you and your canoe I would never have spotted these at the swap meet. I don't have anything to haul right now, but I'm ready.
