Good luck getting 50k out of an external pump. You may get away with it if you mount the pump lower and have the fuel gravity feed into it, and not by siphoning it. Electric fuel pumps don't like to suck, they are made to push fuel. They will suck some, but its generally not the best way to go, and will shorten the life of them. Spend the money now, go with an in tank pump and only do it once.
