TBI O2 fuel mileage
Here is the situation. I have a 95 Yukon with a 350 TBI and 3.73 gears and LT265/75-R16 and a 91 Suburban with a 350 TBI and 4.10 gears and LT235/85-R16. other than weight and gear ratios, the other differences are the Yukon has external ESC and the Suburban does not, the Yukon has the O2 sensor on the left exhaust manifold, the Suburban has the O2 sensor down by the rear of the transmission. Both TBIs have been rebuilt, both have AC Delco plugs... basically, they are as identical as I can get them.
With the Yukon I could get 20 mpg tank average. With the Suburban I can only manage 15 mpg best tank average. What I am wondering is if moving the O2 sensor up to the manifold where it can get more heat would improve fuel mileage on the Suburban.
