Re: New 1980 Camaro project.

Got the TCM and the ECM back from the "mail order tuner" on Wednesday. Plugged them in and and it does run much better. Still think I will need a chassis dyno tune to really dial it in. I just want to get some miles on it in the next couple of weeks. The somewhat local chassis dyno tuners are booked until August.

Re: New 1980 Camaro project.

Just an update.
I took the 80 out for it's first cruise today. Shifted well and seems to have great power. No leaks or drips.
Still needs a chassis tune. That will happen after deer hunting in mid-Nov.
Tomorrow I will mark out a 2 mile course so I can program the Auto Meter speedo.

Re: New 1980 Camaro project.

Can't believe I haven't updated.
Didn't do the chassis dyno tune. My tuner guy looked at the engine/trans and rear end specs and said unless you want rwhp numbers he could get the tune spot on with a drive tune. And he was right. I've used this guy before on my LS swaps and he knows his stuff.
I have about 100 miles on it and it runs and shifts great. A bit too hot weather wise for the next few days for a cruise.
