bed lift?

I know I have seen one on trucks tv before that let you use a engine hoist to lift a truck bed so you could remove/install by yourself. Anybody know where I can buy one or who makes one?

Thanks,

Tom

Best pass with the old dragtruck:
5.32 @ 131.6 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.25 60' Fogger/Plate 2003

Best pass with the street 406 hydraulic roller motor w/ mild plate tuneup
5.93 @ 114 mph 1/8 mile w/ a 1.29 60' 2003 or 2004

Re: bed lift?

I just built mine out of some unistrut I had laying around. I used 2 pieces that fit snug under the rails, then one about 5 feet long to tie them together.

It worked great, After I lifted the bed I reconfigured the unistrut to lift the cab off. I'll try to get a pic of the setup I used if your interested.

Re: bed lift?

I sell plans to build a bed/cab lift that folds up for easy storage. See my sig for info. It also uses the engine lift. And it is so easy that your wife can do it while pregnint!

Re: bed lift?

Here is a pic of my lift in the cab lift configuration. I used the L brackets to bolt to the end of the engine lift whre the chain bolt resides.

For the bed lift I just used a 5 foot piece for the center piece with grade 8 7/16th eye bolt. I also used all grade 8 3/8 bolts to boly the steel together.

The end pieces pictured were added to keep the cab from shifting while up in the air. It worked great, I was a little nervous lifting the cab that high in the air ( it was going on a 3/4 4x4 chassis)

If your not familar with unistrut, its available at electrical supply houses and I have seen it at Home Depot. Its runs around 10 bucks for a 10 foot piece.

Re: bed lift?

a 12 pack and a Pizza is an acceptable cab or bed lift also.
