So, how do you send off a cab? You sure are hanging in there! Keep up the great work, and hey, post a few pics when you can

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

Just curious, but when putting the top on, do you have the windshield and back glass handy, or how do you make sure the glass will fit?

My 59 really isn't in the best of shape even though it has a nice paint job. But the front top windshield frame was down a bit in the front (not noticeable), I'm talking a tad and the glass wouldn't go in the normal way. Just make sure the clearances are right

I am very happy to see the doors are being hung before the roof is welded back on. that would be unfortunate if it went back together and the doors didn't fit.
big job coming along nicely. keep the pics coming.

Thanks, the truck means a lot to me and seeing the major progress inspires me to continue to work on it

Once the cab is finished the fenders and bed is next to have rust repaired

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

More progress on the truck

The cab roof is done

He’s finishing up with the cab and then it’s on to the doors
Because the man I paid 1,800 bucks to fix the doors, front fenders and bed screwed
everything up four years ago and Ted is having to repair the doors where the other guy screwed things up

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

Cab is done and the doors fit perfectly.

Roof was replaced
Both steps
Both cab corners
Dash in places

And a lot more was replaced

The cab is solid and so are the doors

Now the trucks bed and fenders can be repaired and the truck will be rust free

I’ll upload a video to YouTube so yall can see the doors shutting and how good they close

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

The trucks bed is being rust repaired right now and should be done in the next 2 weeks or so

For now I am putting primer on the bare metal places where rust was replaced on the cab

I’ll update with some photos when the bed makes some major progress

I have nearly everything for this truck and having wiring being made to fit my GMC
and will be plug and play.. very eager to get it

Here are some primer photos of the cab
