Cpp vs. Early classics

I need to lower my truck a ways and I have seen these two deluxe lowering kits. Springs, shocks, panhard bar and such. Does anybody have some experience with either one of these kits? I don't have disc brakes and its not really in the future plans. Looking at 2/4 or 3/4 drops. Thanks fellas.

I bought a cpp front drop and disc brake kit back in early December. they kept telling me some parts were out of stock and would be in another 10 days. did this many times, after 8 weeks I asked for my money back. I bought a kit from ecc and had it in 1 weeks time. I'm not the only one that has had problems with cpp. I will not buy anything from cpp again, there products may be good, but I'm really happy with the ecc products. that's my 2 cents.....

I've read it's best to buy CPP stuff through a reseller like summit so you can avoid dealing with the company directly.

I bought drop spindles, lowering springs, shocks, panhard bar, rear sway bar and rotors from CPP and no problems getting my parts or with fit. Was happy with everything. Guess could have been a different story if back ordered or problems.

I have the ECE premium 2/4 drop kit on my otherwise mostly stock longbed. I like it but just so you know, it makes the stance on a longbed darn near level. The company is easy to deal with however and will exchange the springs for different heights provided you don't mess them up, but you have to pay the shipping. I highly recommend them. You also save some $$ going through summit.. And i figured summit would take good care of me if problems arise..

Yes, I forgot about that.
Summit shipped my Cpp stuff for free.
The drop spindles ended up not working with the wheels I have, so they took them back with a full refund.
Great company.

Cpp service is ridiculously poor.

My 64 is all ECE. It was done years ago as a club project and everything went so smooth. All the folks I know seem to deal with ECE all the time, so I am assuming the product is good and the service is good.

Mine is a 4.5/6 drop.

This is my first lowered vehicle, so I don't have much other experience to talk about.

cpp never tried ece. i ordered my parts from summit. free shipping if over $100 cant beat that. there are several vendors on here who are distributors for cpp. may check with them

I have a combination ECE and CPP, both have excellent parts. CPP has slipped on their customer service the last several years. ECE has always been top notch with CS and returns or questions.

I keep telling myself I won't order through CPP anymore, but I like that they package most of the things together that I need (Example: drop kits). I thought I would be smart this time and place my order through Summit, but unfortunately, the items had to be drop shipped straight from CPP. It's now been 8 business days and I still haven't been given any shipping info or an update on whether or not the parts are even in stock. The customer service rep at CPP won't even respond to me right now. I'm not currently seeing the benefit of ordering through a 3rd party yet.

I'm sticking to my guns and this will be the last time I order anything from CPP, period. Horrible customer service...
