98 S10 cruise control

What parts are needed to add a factory cruise control to a 1998 S10 with a 4Cyl and 4L60E?

You'll need several items. Aftermarket kits would probably easier to install. Try looking at a unit from www.rostra.com. I have one in my '83 C10. It works great. If you don't prefer a switch on the column, there some with a pad you can glue to the bezel.

You will need the multifunction switch and the servo/cable assembly. All the wiring is already on the vehicle. You may need to have the PCM reprogrammed.

Are these pieces able to be transfered from another truck? What is the multifunction switch? Is that the switch on the steeering column?

Yes. The multifunction switch does wipers, turn signals, hi/lo beams, hazards and cruise control. I would recommend getting the parts from the same year truck you have.

Re: 98 S10 cruise control

I would be interested if anyone has these factory cruise control parts available.
