Hello guys. I'm thinking of buying a 1969 c10 longbed off of craigslist to restore and sell. It has 60,xxx, and can drive, but the transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced. It has the original 350. I am thinking of repainting it and replacing parts that are needed. I will drive it for the next couple of years and then sell it to purchase a family car when the time comes

. I'm not going for a barret jackson car by any means. Do you think that I will be able to make money when the time comes to sell it or do you think it will just become one of the many unfinished project cars and I will loose money. I know it will be a lot of work, but I've always been interested in these models of Chevy trucks, since my father and uncle has one. Pictures will be posted down below. Thank you for all your input

What do you think about the grease/oil on the bottom of the truck above the U joint? Could that mean anything? How much do you think that this could sell for?

Grease around the ujoint means that a ujoint has gone bad at some point. Might even be bad now. No big deal $20 and about 1/2 hour and your good to go. As for resale price, on the low end, If you payed $1200 for the truck and screw it up you could lose money. If you are a perfectionist and spend big on a frame off rebuild it could go for $25,000 or more. There is one on craigslist in Sacramento CA right now that is asking $45,000. You never know.

It needs a good amount of work, and in case you didn't know that is not a 69 front end it is off a 68. The cab and bed appear to be fairly solid from what I can see so that is a big plus. I don't think you can go wrong for 1200. I could do with out the z28 fender vents personally, but thats jmo.. Good luck with your purchase, I would offer 900 and start to ride

Take a good long hard look at trucks in better condition, you can go broke just fixing up the brakes, wiring, hoses, tires, exhaust, interior etc... on good clean trucks. Thats one tired truck for just 60k miles. If your serious look for a clean original truck to start with, theres too much backyard tinkering and hotrodding going on with that one. Id wager if you buy it and fix it your lucky to get your money back and never recoup anything for your labor, nope check that, id say you will lose money. If this was a cheap truck to rebuild why are there so many pieces of crap for sale out there?
