Almost have all the sides welded out and ground down. Then it's on to the stake pockets and lead work.

Re: Dubb907 72 Chevy swb Dropmember

I like the custom bed work! Is the front bed panel a whole new piece or is it skinned over a cut down original? I guess I am wanting to see a close up of the front bed panel. It looks like the inner bedside skins are overlapped slightly and welded and ground flush, is that right? Great job!

Thanks man!!! The front is the original panel with a piece of 16ga that's welded to the front panel. The inner panels are welded flush to the sides. After doing it I think I would cap the bedrail then the stake pockets would be shaved.

Thanks a lot man. Haven't had much time to work on it. Between family time and work no extra time. Hope that I can get some more done on it this coming week.

Re: Dubb907 72 Chevy swb Dropmember

Haven't got to work on the truck lately. Been working on my buddies fairlane and his 59 ford panel. Hoping to get back to work on the truck tomorrow. Getting excited about the one and done party next week. Ready to get my hands dirty.

Wow just read through your build, awesome job on the bed. I love the smooth sheet metal. And your Yellow 68 is just ridiculous, I love it. Subscribed to see how this turns out.

So here is the notch for the core support. I used 4x4 box tubing and split it in half to the height that I needed.

Got the front clip bolted back on the truck. Still need to do the hood hinges to the hood. Can't believe I got this far after starting with 2 frame rails.

Thanks Keith. Your truck is turning out awesome. Really appreciate the feedback. Gets me excited that some people like the direction of the truck.

Thanks a lot. Been keeping a eye on your Lucy build. Wish I had a truck like that to start out with. But in the ak it's hard to find trucks that nice.
