Replacing Steering Box

I have a 68 that has power steering and just too much slop for the wife to be comfortable driving. Figure the 50 year old steering box is kinda whooped. What is the best replacement box that will bolt right in with a little tighter ratio?

Re: Replacing Steering Box

I put a 78 steering box in my 68 , it had ram assist when I got it , world of difference , make sure you have a sway bar also , I have seen several without them .

Re: Replacing Steering Box

I’ll throw a second out there for the redhead boxes. Used them in other brands on ol69 and 71 F250’s, two Excursions (one with a 4” lift and over 100k on it) and a friend 80’s Bronco. Zero issues and the Excursions has HORRIBLE wandering problems before with none after.
