custom fabbed tonneau's

How many of you guys have custom fabbed your own tonneau covers? Ive been thinking about using sheet metal and welding in tabs/supports to drop in flush with the bed rails all the way around. It would add a little weight in the ass in addition to covering the bottle and fuel cell (Ill most likely mount one in the bed until I get around to putting it under). I googled around and couldnt find much besides people making them out of plywood.

Re: custom fabbed tonneau's

Mine is built out of aluminum! A buddy of mine owns a sign shop and he hooked me up. It has thin square tube aluminum for bracing. A company called Gem top makes a real nice metal cover but you would have to cut it for roll bar tubes. Mine is pictured in my build thread towards the end. This guy makes them also but I have only seen pictures. http://www.s10dragracer.com/FORSALE.htm

Re: custom fabbed tonneau's

I'll find them for you or take some because we are pulling it to do some bodywork.
