Lift for a Cummins swap

I'm looking to do a 12V swap and want an adequate lift for such a heavy engine. This lift is for sale and is rated at "2 tons." Is this a good lift to do a 12v Cummins swap?

Re: Lift for a Cummins swap

That's what I used . It was just acceptable . I made the kid ahead to the other end of the shop when any lifting was being done . Now a few times I lifted the eng trans and tc . That was dicey . Check my thread for a few " entertaining " lift pics .

Re: Lift for a Cummins swap

I just checked out your build, awesome truck and build!

I saw how you had your lift positioned. What size is your lift?

Re: Lift for a Cummins swap

That's very similar to mine also. I used it without issues (although sometimes sketchy) to lift frame, axles, cab and box. Best and most used tool on my truck build.

Re: Lift for a Cummins swap

Just becareful not to break those frotn wheels. I've done that and almost dumped an engine. Not fun there.

Re: Lift for a Cummins swap

Thanks guys, I ended up getting the lift. It'll be a while before I get to test it.
