Re: Blazer leveling mats?

Got em in my '72. There is one in front of the rear seat and one in back. The factory rubber mat is over the top. I figured they were something that only came with the rubber mat flooring.

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

Weird. Had one of those in the back of my K5 when I bought it, had no idea it was original. Threw it into the parts truck with all the other stuff.

Here's your chance to buy one back.

Yes, they are factory, under rubber mats and carpet. He is also selling Blazer/Jimmy bed spare tire holder.

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

I've got a set of them too, and another set from a previous blazer I had. Should I put those back in prior to carpet? I was going to put fatmat on the bed, but it would follow the contour of the bed, perhaps leaving peaks and valleys. Maybe I should put down the leveling mats down and fatmat on top of those?

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

Clarification needed.
Is it supposed to level the ridges in the floor, or level the floor with the carpet strip, or what exactly is it leveling?

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

Exactly - they just make the surface of the bed flat.

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

Neat idea. Don't think I would have worried about it though. I'm not going to spend much time back there

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

I've got a couple sets also, came from various blazers.

Always thought they were more for drainage...
Never considered the leveling thing.

Re: Blazer leveling mats?

They are for both leveling and drainage. Also as a young kid who would sit on the floor in front of the back seat on long trips. They also must provide a fair amount of padding couldn't do that on a bare bed. Plus I would think they would save some wear and tear and streching on your mat or carpet. Someone was actually thinking back then

These also seem to offer a degree of noise reduction.
