What are the bolts that go through the inner rocker panels used for?

There is six bolts that go into the inner rocker panel of my 72 c10. When I took them off whatever they bolt to twisted off with the bolt. Does it bolt onto the outer rocker or something cause I can't figure it out.

They were just an assembly aid, when they were put together.

Are they necessary to have or can I just forget about them?

If you want, you can just forget the bolts, and weld those areas.
