It sits like that because it lays the crossmember in the front but I did not notch the rear due to frame strength with the gooseneck hitch in the rear. I do like a little rake to the truck though I think it gives it a more aggressive look!

Sorry Mike. Couldn't resist.

Congrats on getting some color on it.
LMAO! I think I will get another one before I tear this one apart again! Thanks!

I had to step back a few times today while I was putting the rear bumper and hitch on and finish bending the brake lines to the new master cylinder. It really made me feel like I was accomplishing something finally.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Also got the Curt Class IV hitch installed today and mocked up the rear bumper and brackets. It is the perfect height with my Class IV adjustable receiver.

You mean so I can wire everything... And yes, I did make this profile up just to say that .

And by the way... here's a better image of your gauge panel with all of the holes. When its through machining later this week, i'll start wiring and re-post a photo.

LMAO! Yes Mr. Trumm you will be doing the wiring! Because you are the master of wiring and programing! Thanks for posting the pic! I'm suprised you didn't pull out the icon on me! That is usually your style!

Dude! Looking awesome! That blue is awesome man. Did you already get the bed fixed? Or did I miss that? And I was wondering if you were gonna do the top of the cab white or another color, or leave it blue? Good job though man.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Thanks Raymond, I started fixing the bed by popping out the large dents and the bending the fender sides back out, but most of it is the angle of the lighting on the shots so you cant see the damage And I am keeping the whole truck blue. I might run a couple of fine lines of pin stripping but that would be about it.

The GMC big 6 was the engine of choice for a lot of the early Hot Roders in the 50's.

Yeah... I dont doubt it! At the time I just decided to keep the 250 then I didnt have to go looking for anything else. I considered doing an LS swap but the price was the same as doing my 250, and I think the 250 has a little more wow factor, JMHO!

Re: Project: Turbo 250

NP435 4 speed on the floor. It is a pretty heavy duty trans, and with the 3.07 rear gears the ratios come out pretty nice. I will post an excel file on monday when I get back in town of the RPM band in each gear. The T5 (even the world class T5) would not hold up to the power or pulling capabilities of this truck. And my budget was not enough to purchase a custom built tranny. If for some reason the final drive is still pushing too many RPM's I can switch out the rear gears for the set of 2.76's I have on the shelf.

Re: Project: Turbo 250

Blocked all of the fenders and doors completed the bodywork, now just have to finish sanding off the rest of the paint and shoot the epoxy tomorrow. I also was able to finish the window tinting with a 35% tint

I wasnt sure if it would be worth it since I dont have much body work to be done, but it was definately worth it when all my bondo is less than 1/16"
