Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Thanks, everyone! It's so good to see it back in the ground and coming together.

I have some bad news though. After taking it around the neighborhood a couple times and on one slightly longer excursion to drop my son off at the light rail station I was ready to film it driving. My wife filmed the startup and it barely started, idled rough, then died
I've spent the last few days troubleshooting it in my spare time. I'm convinced something went bad in the AEM EMS (1052). Unfortunately, it's so old that AEM doesn't support it anymore. So I ordered up their latest and greatest AEM Infinity EMS with F20C wiring harness. It'll be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed..

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

We’re back in action with a new AEM Infinity! The issue was not the ecu though The plugs were fouled. Probably from the old ecu just not being tuned.. Scheduling a tune ASAP

She’s on the road boys and girls! Been to Portland Cars and Coffee twice now!! Couldn’t be happier with the performance and it’s not even tuned yet!

HUGE Congrats are in order!! I can't say enough nice things about how great the car looks. Keep us posted as you get it tuned and perhaps we can get a video one day when you take it around the Nurburgring.

Very nice! Excellent work.

Is the Burb/Tahoe back on the list for completion?

Given the PermaGrin i am sure your still wearin, I think the new name should be FUNBEAM!!

Hope to see you both before the summer gets away.. As many have said, you pulled off an incredible performance here and should be extremely proud!

I've been following your build from the day it was on the trailer. I must say I'm impressed with your build skills, your dedication to seeing the task to its end, and the fantastic final results. Thank you for sharing the ride with us!!

Thanks Palf! The Tahoe is definitely getting some love in order to make it more marketable. But between us, knowing myself I will probably get hooked on it again and take it further into uncharted territory. I need a new creative outlet after "finishing" the Funbeam

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Quick question regarding post 32 (waaaay back there): "I had the axles reworked at Dutchman's to fit the S2000 rotors. They are 5x4.5" and just happen to be the same pattern as the wheels you may have noticed in some of the previous pics. While at Dutchman's I had new bearings and retainers pressed on."

Did that mean to say, "...had the S2000 rotors reworked to fit the axles"? I'm looking at doing a similar retrofit, and it looks like the rotors were re-drilled to the existing pattern of the DJ-5. And are DJ's 5x4.5 stock (smaller than CJ's 5x5), or is that what was reworked?

Axles were reworked to fit the s2000 rotors as written. The reason for this was to allow me to use factory or aftermarket S2000 parts for most of the mechanical gear.

I took it out for a spin with my copilot today.
