The chroming process is getting quite expensive. The bleeding heart enviromentalists are complaining about the chemicals used in the process. It might be cheaper to buy new ones, but I do not know any exact prices on the chrome thing so definately check it out.

The last time I checked, around the D/FW area, It was cheaper to buy replacement parts than having my old ones re-chromed.
One place quoted me $600 to do a GMCgrill and upper cross bar.

Check out this thread from a while back. Scroll through to about the middle and there are several chrome shops listed. Let us know what you find out.

I believe GMC Paul has certain years of GMC grills new. Others are not available. I can't remember which he has.

I took a glovebox door into the chromers a few weeks back and got a price of $189 to chrome it if that gives you an idea.

When I had my grille, top bar, eyebrows, and headlight bezels rechromed, approx. 1 1/2 yrs ago, it cost me right at $1,000.00 to do it here in Dayton, Ohio. At that time, the only thing you could buy was the eyebrows. Hope this helps?

71-72 You can get the Grill and eyebrows new. No top bar. They are working on the 69-70 grill not ready yet. I had a 67 Grill and headlight buckets chromed and it cost me 550.00 bucks at Knox Custom Chrome in Knoxville Tennessee. I can get the 71-72 Grills and eyebrows.
