Blazer with bench seat?

Anyone ever see any of the 1969 Blazers with a bench seat?

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

I thought about doing this to my blazer.. but it would make it a little difficult to get to the back seat.

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

I am currently running aftermarket 2 bucket seats and a flip up center console. So I am a 6 seater with seat belts. Both driver and passenger seats tip and slide forward. Its a great set up with having 2 kids. Boating days each can bring a friend.

I have a 60/40 split bench from a 98 Silverado extended cab. It flips forward to allow passengers to get in back.

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

I saw a beat-up gypsy looking K/5 with a bench seat in the front and a bunch of junk in the back, some crew or tech guy's rig in crew parking at ASU stadium in 1996 while we were building up the Diana Ross half time show for Superbowl XXX. Seat was obviously not original. Didn't meet the owner, as I had enough on my hands working my own department.

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

I was wondering if anyone had ever seen an early 69 with a factory bench -- which yes I know they didn't come with factory bench -- or did they?

This is an early GM stock photo promoting the Blazer. So this isn't someone adding something afterwards. I thought it might be possible that in the first month or so of production they rolled some out with a factory bench seat like they have in the photo.

Now that I'm looking at this picture closer - even though it seems like period correct stock GM photo - the wheels definitely aren't stock or at least the red paint wasn't as far as I know.

Top delete is very rare and would be super interesting to see. How is it that your doors are flush to the rear sides of the Blazer?

edit - I see we live sort of near to each other. Are you putting your Blazer in any shows this year? I would check it out if you are.

3 buckets up front for me, suburban 3rd row in back. 6 seater. Custom slider for the passenger seat.

hard top was an option that most people chose

is that what the original back glass struts looked like? I just bought a strut dampener from autozone the other day.. and the rear glass instantly closed. It was too heavy for the strut dampener that I bought.

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

the original ones are not dampers they are slides that lock and unlock because of a camber in the mechanism

Re: Blazer with bench seat?

Ya I had seen the data books and brochures showing the seating options. Just wondering if anyone had ever seen the 1 or 2 Blazers that have bench seats in the promo photos.

Get a '67 or '68 bench seat. They will fold forward, if the nuts [or wingnuts] are removed from the hinges. Get the back re-skinned, too, like on the Suburban.
