Si alternator conversion wiring

I recently purchased an adapter to “plug and play” the si alternator from the external alternator wiring. After much research on the site I have seen the illustration showing jump wires connecting the white and brown wire, as well as the blue and red wires jumped together. This leaves the white and blue wire to be attached, white to the #1 terminal on the alternator and blue to the # 2 terminal of the alternator.
Unfortunately, my sealed( not visible ) manufactured jump block does not allow me to see if this is in fact how the wires interface. The pigtail supplied with the kit has the blue wire on the # 1 terminal and the white wire on the # 2 terminal.
Concerned , should I be?

I bought my plug and play adapters and just plugged them in. It works. If you are concerned, there's nothing wrong with being cautious. You can check with a multimeter what the internal connections are on the sealed jump block. Just check for continuity on the terminals of the block.

It's very easy to check. The wire to no. 1 will have 12 volts on it with the key on and zero volts with the key off.
The no. 2 wire will be constant 12 volts.
Some folks jump the blue and brown wire and the red and white wire. This causes confusion but it really doesn't matter as long as the brown wire is jumped to no. 1.

If you plug it in and the wires are wrong it won't damage anything but it will drain the battery overnight. It may cause the engine not to shut off when the ignition is turned off.

You'll want a 12 SI alternator from a mid eighties Camaro, S10 Cadillac, Buick, Olds, or any other high end GM vehicle. The important thing is to look for the larger holes on the back of the alternator for better cooling.

You might also want to upgrade the output wire from the alternator to a 10 gauge or even an 8 gauge wire if you plan on having electric cooling fans, a stereo amp. or other high draw components.

I don't have any high-powered items that I'm adding such as electric fans, so I have not upgraded the output wiring.
