Re: Door Skin Feedback

Yup, after market parts usually need some persuasion to fit correctly.
Original needs a good kick sometimes too.

Re: Door Skin Feedback

Figured I’d follow up on this if anybody is searching for a good door skin. As expected, the TriPlus skin was equally bad as the Counterpart. The body lines were off by about 3/8” and I’m not even sure how folks use the complete skin successfully. I ended up doing the PS same as the DS, cutting between the body lines and basically tossing the top bit in the bin. Not exactly ideal when you’re paying $200CDN for a chunk of sheet metal.

Here’s a couple pics of how it turned out. Will still need some work, one side and the bottom need to be welded for gaps still.

I tacked a piece of angle iron to it before cutting to minimize panel distortion, it seemed to work pretty good.

Re: Door Skin Feedback

That's when we would refer to aftermarket parts at the shop as "similar."
