Adel clamp tool you don't need

I can't see too many of us buying this thing, BUT if I had a bunch of these to do in tight quarters, I could see myself cobbling something together based on this.
Hope this helps

Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need

99.9% of the time, Adele clamps are fastened to another surface, i mean that's the whole point of an Adele clamp. This little gadget doesn't address that issue, it simply bolts 2 clamps together and leaves them hanging out in space.

Interesting business model he has there, selling a $185 dollar solution to a problem no one has.

Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need

I'm glad it's not just me. I was thinking, "When in the world would I even use this thing?"

I mean, I used Adel clamps all over my Blazer, and it's hard for me to imagine an installation where using the tool wouldn't actually take more time.

It anchors two clamps together and also to a nut below, but
...true, it's probably more useful for aircraft

Re: Adel clamp tool you don't need

I'm nearly done now, but I could have used a tool with skinny jaws to reach in from "above" to get the screw in, hold the clamp closed, and retain the screw in place while I fumble inside the frame to get the nut on.

Clunky as it is for my application, this tool(or something like it) would provide some of that third hand capability.

something like this would have helped. I could make this out of PCI filler panels in about 5m now that I've seen it, but couldn't have visualized it if my life depended on it ;-)
