No problem.

Also, don't rule out the Jeep AX15 or the Toyota Supra Turbo R154 5 speeds.(basically the same trans) There is an adapter kit available to bolt them up to the Chevy bellhousings and they are supposed to be a pretty stout manual 5 speed. The adapter is a little pricey but it is milled and the kit comes with a GM bellhousing locator/throwout sleeve and mounting hardware.

http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_gmax15.htm

I bought the kit and I have a Jeep 2WD AX15 trans, All I have to do is figure out what I want to put it in...

If you need a bell housing adapter ring get it from here:

http://www.dennymac.com/muncie-bell-...g-adapter-ring

The Novak one is $32.10 plus $15 shipping and the Dennymac one was $28 shipped when I bought mine.

It tells the years in the article about the adaptor on the Novak site.

How do you plan to connect a driveshaft to the jeep trans instead of a transfer case?

I ended up putting the trans behind a Chevy 377 Stroker motor in this car. I haven't driven it yet but everything bolted together with no problems. The drive shaft yoke from a TH350 slides right on the tail shaft of the AX-15.

The AX-15 5 speed I have came out of a 2 wheel drive Jeep so no problem there.

I see! I have done some work on Jeeps with AX15 and AX5 transmissions, but they were all 4wd. I didn't realized there was a 2wd version of that trans. They seem to be pretty good units, made by Aisan and also used in Toyota pickup trucks.

I think the pickup version is different but the Toyota Supra Turbo, R154 5 speed is exactly the same...

Re: has anyone put a NV3500 in their truck?

I put a Late model (89 i think) SM465 in mine. The hydraulics are almost the same. So I might can help with the hydraulic clutch.

I used the factory master, slave and line all from autozone for the same year as my transmission. Next i used a cut down brake pushrod from our 69 parts truck. The hardest part was getting the hole drilled on the pedal in the right spot so the clutch would fully disengage with minimal effort. The first time i did it it didn't work so good. I had plenty of travel, but it was hard to push. I just redid it and now I got it perfect. I can add pics later and get measurements if anyone needs any.
