Hey Guys, Any Ideas for the Best way to wire up my Windshield wipers to my New Column??
Okay 66 c10 Lt1 Swap. I transplanted Steering column and complete wiring harness with Engine and Transmission Swap, I know I'm Crazy for that one..

Does the turn signal switch have the wires for wipers? If it does then it's just a matter of which wire does what. Now most wiper switches on the column have delay wipers but your truck want have that. You should be able to figure it out if the wires are there.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Yes Andy the wires are there for the Switch, So I guess my real question is, The Newer Column Switch is Compatible with the 66 Windshield wiper Motor?? Being its Single Speed.

What year column did you use???

You will have to see but 12 volts is 12 volts. The wiper motor will just want 12 volts so if the delay is less voltage then it could burn it up if you didn't go all the way to full on when you turn it on. You may want to see if there is a replacement switch without delay wipers that will work in the column. You may could use the cruise button as a windshield pump switch if you install a electric washer jug also.

I don't know if even a two speed would help you as far as the delay unless you could by pass it. As far as finding a motor that would fit your truck I have no idea.
I guess the motor isn't a problem check the link.

Re: Windshield wipers to New Column.??

Okay so I was having trouble getting the Wipers to Stop when the Column Switch was in the off Position..
So I disconnected the Wiper/Washer motor from the Roadmaster Harness and Hooked it up to the 66 Switch grounded to the Dash and run 12v from the Roadmaster fuse Block (a lot of empty spaces) to the Yellow wire on the Wiper Motor and it works perfectly, low Hi and wash.
I also picked up some jeep wipers and Cadillac washer Bottle/Motor.
Thanks Andy4639 for your Help...

Lightbulb Re: Windshield wipers to New Column.??

Cool sir. Glad you got it working. Now for a little bit of info. Go to the yard and find you a couple of Tahoes are Suburbans with rear wiper arms and get the spray nozzles off of them.

Bring them home and put them in boiling water and vise grip them onto the wiper arms on the truck. Run the hose to them and electric pump jug and it will spray water over the whole swipe of the arm. It will clean the window much better.

Most all 07 up have them even some older ones. I look for the 07 up though.

Another cool addition to your truck could be a late model rear view mirror if you don't mind going to a windshield mirror mount. You may could modify it to the mount now though. Most Gm vehicles have them but the one I pictured was a Nissan max.
I have one in my 71 C10 & the ramp truck, with the temp, compass and home link buttons to open the garage door. I can open up to 3 different doors. I mounted the temp senor on the front grille on the center support. Run a 12 v wire and ground and the 2 senor wires to the mirror and it's done. You will need the senor off the vehicle you get the mirror off of also they are in the front of the vehicle.

I like the dash and the wheel! Nice job sir. What does the inside look like on the steering wheel. The turn signal wiring should have a black ground wire that grounds the horn when you press the horn button into the steering shaft.

Just off the top of my head I say it's the ground wire. Most GM vehicles it's grounded to the steering shaft to make the horn work. Where does the wire go to. If the wire is connected to the steering wheel it self where does the other end go? Take a wire and ground it and see if the horn works. This is me assuming everything else is hooked up though.
