Speedo Quit

Thursday night I pumped about 12 pints of GL-5 80-90 weight gear oil into 3 things, my rearend, the NP205 Xfer Case and the SM 465 tranny. While filling the 205, I saw the coupler for the speedometer cable was loose, with the
square-tipped end just barely in the tranny fitting.

The speedometer had been working OK, maybe fluttering at freeway speeds, but otherwise normal. So I was surprized to see it loose.
Friday, on a run to the supermarket, I noticed I had no MPH indicator. I guess the speedo cable is broken.
