!!fliped!!

got 2 freebies today finished my flip job on the rear axle and my dads friend was getting rid of this 350 short block. he has the heds new pistons and pink rods all for the hefty sum of absolutly nothing. he said the block came from a old vette he used to have (hes got 4 66/67 427 vetts). its gonns be my 383 i think.

im happy how the flip came out just made my spring brakets from 2'' stock from shop class and welded the brackets.i still need new u bolts and bushings but i think the drop is right where i want it. special thanks to crazy longhorn he helped me out alot -kyle

You better do a c-notch while the body is still off. You will need it.

Cool! good to see you got it worked out. She will sit down pretty good when you get the body back on. I dont have my frame notched, but have moved the spring hangers down on the frame, & have used a different style u bolt & bracket(67-72 Ford pu bracket & U bolt). The u bolts wrap the axle tubes, & the bracket sits flat under the spring. Ill try to get some pics, but need to get the truck on a rack to shoot them(got a 6 spd richmond gear box swap to shoot pics of also!) crazyL

if you want to have the pinion right take out your axels then swap the backing plates side for side rotate them 180degrees then rotate the axel until the brake cylinders are at the 12oclock position and you should be pretty close ,the way you have it set now it looks to be about 20 degrees off and i think the way the u bolts are that the rear can just torque itself right out of there having the u bolts around the axel tube would be a wise move

Yes, I think you will find the weight of the body will set it down farther than you think(been there). I would set the body back on(when you have it ready), & just dont bolt the box......if you need the notch, or decide its too low as compaired to the front drop, you can lift the box off & modify as needed. The frame is shaped a little different on my longhorn, so you may see different (more clearance) thn I had. My setup runs 4 leafs, flip, & due to front height, the back was too low after the flip. I moved the spring hanger brackets down on the rails to lift the rear back up a (approx1 1/4"), & hav 2 3/4" clearance tween the axle & frame......no notch, & no bumpstops. The rear is a 5" drop, & the front is 1 ring off the coils...2 1/2-3" drop. Good luck, crazyL
