'72 Jimmy

Finally....after a long search......I finally found what I was looking for. Just brought it home today.

Was a one owner, until the gentleman passed about 4 years ago. His Daughter inherited it, and was finally willing to sell it.

Looks like the only rust repair is the lower rocker on the passenger side only.

Looking forward to doing this one!

Re: '72 Jimmy

Are these wheel covers desirable?

Check out the glovebox. Pretty darn clean.

Nice truck! The wheel covers looks like the stock (option P01 - right column, 4th from the bottom on SPID label in glove box) wheel covers for the truck. Yes - since they appear to be in good shape and are the OEM covers - they are desirable to anybody doing a stock restore or just wanting their truck to stay stock. If they are a 2nd set as the truck appears to already have a set - you could keep them as spares or sell them for some good money.

Beautiful, these trucks look very classy in white, I'd have a hard time modifying much here, major cleaning and polishing, new 32-33" tires and call it done

Lovely truck! I kept my wheel covers as i was doing a restoration to stock. If i was you i would definitely keep them (assuming you're sticking to the stock lock).

My wheel covers had some dings in them and the chrome was beyond polishing. Santa Cruz metal polishing in santa cruz did an amazing job getting the dings out and flash chromed them to be as good as new. I highly recommend their services (i don't think you can mail order, you basically have to go down there for a visit).

Thanks for the comments Guys.

Hey Par, it looks like it's just a good reason to take a trip to Santa Cruz.

I am going to keep the hubcaps, but I'll just store them. I already have a set of Rally Wheels for the Jimmy.

More pics of floor pan, and lining.

Did GM provide this underlining, or more than likely aftermarket?

Re: '72 Jimmy

Great buy. Post more pics when possible. Single wall top? Was the jack and assoc hardware with the Jimmy?

That undercoat is not OEM atop the floor pan. Prob done when carpet was replaced.

The top is a double wall, and it does have interior lights (2), along the top of it.

And the darn jack is no longer there. The spring that holds it in is still there, but nothing else.

Picture of the inside, top. Just found all of the original paperwork, including the protecto plate. Bill of Sale, owners manual, and a bunch of other documentation.

I didn't know the owners, but it was only advertised for a short time (hours), before I called on it, and subsequently went and purchased it.

Re: '72 Jimmy

Began to take the front end off the Jimmy. Want to pull the motor and complete the rebuild on it.

So far, nothing but good on this vehicle. Check out how clean the windshield frame is, and the cowl too!

How is the engine compartment? Original hose routing by chance?
