Opinion on pinstripes

Hey everyone!

I just replaced the pinstripes on my 88 Burb and I'm not sure they turned out like I thought they would. Should I keep them or get a different color? The original pinstripes were a tan color. But I didn't like those either...

It's hard to tell, but the stripe is two-tone fawn gold and some darker brown.

Any opinions or thoughts appreciated.

I don't know what you are looking for but to me a thin orange stripe would stand out a little bit on that body color.

Thanks Boog. I was trying to go with a subtle pinstripe and I guess it worked. Haha. But now I'm thinking I want a little more contrast. I don't know about orange though...

Painted stripes, yes.
Vinyl stripes nope, none.

Orange or yellow stripes

The gold stripe is to fat for my liking.

Re: Opinion on pinstripes

Well, you certainly elicited some opinions, haha. You chose the colors well, but unfortunately a thin stripe or even a couple of them on a rig that size is like stretching a ribbon across an acre and looking for it from the air. I think you're on the right track otherwise. The original tan was not a bad call, and a gold that approximates that same color is a good idea. Putting a vinyl center band of tan or gold would be the thing that really sets it off. There's probably a reason why GM used that big five-stripe to separate the colors. Anything else was just too subtle at the time. Contrast will help get you there if you want to go with a narrow stripe. White and the aforementioned yellow or orange are probably the only ones bright enough. White is safe, yellow and orange would probably need a test run.

Re: Opinion on pinstripes

Thanks for all the comments! Ok I agree. There needs to be more contrast and I agree with LT they should be bigger. Great description!

I wonder if I could find some of the original 5 line striping....

It's too bad that they don't show pictures of each of the combinations of colors. Hopefully they can provide samples. There's a whole raft of brown and tan options and the tan with maroon might even work.
