Re: 1970 Burn Victim

Cool truck and story! Glad you made the save! Of course, being from Texas, you have to cut it up and Porterbuilt it! (wink, wink, nudge nudge) Enjoy it!

It has great floors. I was super lucky to find this truck. It has turned out really nice! Hopefully this weekend ill have all of the paint sorted out.

Does anyone know of a good vendor for carpet? I originally ordered some from lmc but they sent me the wrong carpet (high hump-i have the low hump and told them, they just made a mistake). I didn't really like how cheap it looked either so I am going to send it back. Any suggestions?

Exactly. It is new bumper to bumper now. Hopefully I won't have any issues.

It is the same motor. I had to replace everything that could melt like the cap rotor plug wires air cleaner all of the a/c stuff belts ect but it runs like a champ now. I've put about 6-700 miles on it since I got it back together. I also added power brakes along the way so it drives like a dream. I am very pleased how everything turned out so far.

Re: 1970 Burn Victim

Does anyone have a picture of the glove-box door catch screws? I seem to have misplaced mine and want to make sure I am not just overlooking them...I know this is a dumb thing to ask, but if the shoe fits... These are the two screws that attach directly to the door itself. Thanks for the help!!

Re: 1970 Burn Victim

It is a new radio the other one was toasted. I think it sounds hood for having two speakers under the seat. The key to having speakers under the seat is to make sure they are pushed to thw front and stay there. When I had a bench seat they were always slid to the back and you couldn't hear it, but now that they are secure to the front they sound good enough for 75 mph with the windows down

Looks really good!

What aftermarket heat/air system is that? Any problems with the windows fogging?

Whoa! I recognize this truck, and the dude in the picture. You didn't tell me you were on this forum. I can vouch that the truck looks and drives great! You did a great job putting this one back together.

Classic Auto Air. I haven't seen any issues so far. My truck is well ventilated though.
