My Blue Truck, painted

Hi forum. I've posted a few times before getting great advice from everyone, now it's my time to share. Last summer I did a paint job for my precious truck, and have finally cared to give it glamour shots, attached. Please enjoy and leave comments.

Re: My Blue Truck, painted

I bought this truck in 2008 and have been working on it ever since. It's my first vehicle, and has been the biggest single project I've ever been a part of. I love it to death. I've poured money and my labor into making it what it is today: a nicely re-built daily driver. It got it's paint job last summer and I just recently added finishing touches, and had it washed, so I had to finally take glamour shots. It's got a 350 in it with a TH350 transmission. I installed power steering which is nice, and I have a hitch receiver which hides behind the license plate (I also have an electric brake control set up, I hauled a trailer once for my brother). I also put in a new oak wood bed/strips; it looks so good! The truck is in great shape. It was originally a gov. vehicle for CA county of Glenn (when I got it it still had the emblem on the passenger side). I had it painted the factory original color, but with base/clear. I've tried to make this truck stay as stock as possible, with the exception of a new radio. It makes me feel like I'm driving a piece of history.
Hey, enjoy the photos and keep trucking.
-Christian

P.S. I'm not selling this or anything, but what kinda (realistic) offer would you make on this truck? Just curious.

truck is a work of art, love it, ditch the tool box though, it's nice but doesn't deserve to be in that beauty IMO

You did good. I have to agree on "Ditch the toolbox". Just doesnt fit in with that nice of a truck.

Re: My Blue Truck, painted

Let's see, how do I say this? Ok, that truck is beaut-isemo-dacious!! There!
I love the original look and the way you hid the hitch and tucked the exhaust in tight. The whitewalls, hubcaps, color. I'm kinda leaning with tantrumpipeline about the toolbox but hey, it's YOUR truck.

I hope you enjoy driving that baby for a looooonnnnnnggggg time.

Price? I'd laugh at anybody that offered me less than $20K.

Re: My Blue Truck, painted

Nice looking truck. A stepside is what I've been looking for but haven't found yet.

My 68 GMC (fleetside) is similar in color. It's somewhat lighter (my wife calls it powder blue) but has (had) more contrast with the white top and darker blue dashpad. I'm thinking of going original color also.

I had the paint shop look up "Light Blue" for that year. Then they matched it with a good piece of original paint on my truck. It's not too light, which I think is important.

Re: My Blue Truck, painted

Thanks for your compliments!! I'll go back to this posting whenever I feel like throwing a wrench.
As for the truck box, well, Yeah I suppose it detracts from the original look, but it stores most of my tools and is VERY handy. I'll be keeping it. Besides now if I take it off, the two mounting holes will show along with foam pad strips .
