MSD HEI street fire distributor
FItech 600 hp easy street
Summit brand 304 ss short headers into a JBA 304 ss Y pipe

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

Thanks all for correcting my lack of effort on what goes out the door at BP engines.
I've been looking at big block engineson their website, everyone has a "Blueprint" cast into the block at the top near where the intake sets.

Stormin, what are your plans for crank case ventilation???

Well I called and got a recording I guess they dont answer e-mails.
You know what? I think I will just wait and save for the Chevy Performance SP350 357HP Crate Engine 19367080. They're in Texas anyway.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

i have a cast aluminum angled breather similar to the link, it is painted black and will mount on the outside of the pass valve cover right between the bolts.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

That will let air in, but you need a place to connect a PCV valve on the other side of the engine.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

i am debating running check valves down into the exhaust...venting from the rear of the valve covers. otherwise, a bung will be added to the driver side.

I have wondered about doing such, although have no real intentions. I just like the clean look of the 67 and earlier scripted valve covers.

I've also thought about running one on the other side and running a PCV from it.

THe breathers I have looked at are on www.mooneyesusa.com, under auto accessories.

Bringing this back from the dead. Rocknrod, what did you ever decide as far as the engine goes?

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

My plan is to go with the Blueprint engine. I'm in Iowa right now working to get money to finish this truck the way I want.
I was just looking further into this when i saw this thread. Yes the Blueprint engine.

i just made 2 trips around the block on memorial day...i ended up drilling my driver valve cover near the rear and adding a stock style pcv for now.

i may run the mewagner dual stage pcv in the near future.

The LSA for the GM 350/357 is 108.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

I didn't realize that. That engine should have a nice choppy/lopey idle but also a little low on vacuum.

Ya it was hard to nail down the real number, for the first couple years the numbers were all over depending on where you read it. I found it using the part number for the cam in that engine.

Re: Blueprint vs ATK Engines

The LSA is slightly tight but the duration is mild he'll be fine with brakes IMO.

I just watched this video (plant tour and assembly) - https://youtu.be/Jzr2U8bGpvc
They talk about making they're own blocks, but I bought a seasons block.
