Battery relocation?

Has anyone moved their battery from the engine compartment to somewhere else? The passenger compartment, the bed, or underneath somewhere? Just looking for ideas...

Re: Battery relocation?

I plan on relocating to the frame. I purchased a battery tray from CCP. I haven't installed it yet.

Re: Battery relocation?

Put mine under the bed on the frame behind the passenger side. Made my own tray.

Re: Battery relocation?

Did you use a regular battery or a sealed one? Do you have any pictures of your install?

Re: Battery relocation?

Mounted a box for mine right beside fuel cell. I will have hinged access panel in bed floor. CPP (and I'm sure some other venders) have a nice "drop out" box that you can mount on frame and it drops down for access. Good luck..

Re: Battery relocation?

I didn't move mine but I have another one in the cab right now. Mine sits between my seats for now. Once I get the gas tank moved I will have one in each corner of the rear of the cab.

Re: Battery relocation?

I moved mine to the bed (back passenger side). I also have a battery cut off switch on the bumper to keep it NHRA legal

Re: Battery relocation?

I got a drop down battery box from CPP installed it on the passenger side frame under the bed behind the cab. Cables are not much longer than stock. It is easy to access and if you have to change the battery it drops completely down.

Re: Battery relocation?

I like the battery drop down tray. That's the way to go. Just cheaper for me to make my own.

Re: Battery relocation?

That drop out box is pretty slick. I think that's what I'll do.

Thanks!

Re: Battery relocation?

Nova70, don't want to butt in, but I hope you at least mount those in sealed boxes WITH vent hoses going out. Due to the explosive nature of batteries i would not put them in the cab with me. Just my 2 cents worth...
