Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

I went through the same debate Down South.... I went with what was original even though I really like houndstooth. I would do what you would want to do and if I had to do it all over again, I would have picked houndstooth. Of course you could not get houndstooth buckets in these trucks. Trevor

Is that the same Chevelle you had in previous threads? New quarters and a complete redo. Keep us posted on that build also. The frame looks good for that bodyswap.

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

Jim,no that's another Chevelle that is being restored at the body shop that my buddy works at.Here are a couple pictures of mine I finally got it running but have only drove it once I need to replace a few wheel studs on the back.I think if everthing goes good I may keep it and build a 496 big block for it so I can go racing once a month or so thanks Mike

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

I think they are 34x9.50-16 I think it's a 3-4 inch lift all spring I really like the extra height but I may go 6 on the next one. here are the pictures with it on the frame the lift is not holding it up. I expect it to settle a little

I found 2 of my 3/4 4x4 frames on this wonderful message forumn. There is alot of them up north if you can find one that isn't to rusty.I've got a 73 or 74 3/4 ton 4x4 frame that I bought awhile back but I will probably just use the front and rears and put them in a half ton frame.

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

Here it is outside! It looks better outside.we still have several gremlins to address.has anybody else ever noticed how the back looks to be lower than the front I know it's because of the wheel openings being higher in the front, but I wonder how it would look with another inch or two in the back??

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

This truck has been painted a few years and sitting outside,I hit one of the fenders with some rubbing compound and it shined up pretty good,my friend says to put a nice set of used mouldings on it but I was thinking about using a new set of repo mouldings what do yall think??? The paint has a few bubbles and scratches here and there and the grill/bumpers are the originals with some oxidation and dings/scrapes.The mirrors and door handles have been replaced and look good.thanks Mike

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

My 4" lift from rough country sits higher in the back on my 72 3/4 ton, but I bought a 4" tuff country for my 69 1/2 ton and it sat lower in the rear. I ended up putting a one inch lift block from ORD, which made it sit level with the front. The ORD block also has the option to move the axle back 1 or 1.5 inches to center up the axle in the fenderwell.
You could just buy an "add a leaf" to raise the rear.

Re: check out my new project k-20 body swap

It turned out nice Mike!!They only thing I may have done different was space out the rear wheels or get wider rims (Older ford ones maybe?) but thats just me.I'd drive it like that though,it turned out great! The super swampers look good on there, almost resemble the old style mud tires from the 70s..

That thing turned out great!! I think it sits perfect! I like them just a tad bit higher in the front. Love the white wheels and swampers!

This looks amazing. I love the swampers and the lift. Buff that paint and go with the reprop mouldings. It would be a heart stopper.
