I picked up a set of these for my truck, not sure if you are still running the stock hinges as past pictures showed, but these would be a nice touch under your hood, just saying

After two solid months of work. We put the hood on it Sunday and I backed it out and gave it a bath.

I have been building this truck since i was 15. I am now 17 & have been through 3 motors, 3 rearends, & 2 trannys. I built my first motor for it & lost the bearings within a week! i was young & learning. I struggled with that little 327 until the 3rd try. i finally had my hotrod running on the street! I drove it to school with a whopping 7 mpg! 6 months later the nitrous bug flew into my ear & we put a 150 shot on it just to play with it. needless to say a stock replacement scat rod wasn't to happy under the influence on nitrous at 7,500.
I am now putting a 359 cubed small block in with a scat forged crank, eagle h beams, wiseco pistons (flattop), Lcp aluminium cylinder heads (200cc runners), Custom grind isky roller cam, Big single plane team G, & two kits!
Th400 with a brake Built by Arnet Transmissions
Coan 5500
9" 35 spline 4:88s Spool
28x10.5 mickey
Im waiting on my magnafuel pump & some misc stuff & ill be ready to put this thing back on the road!

Will post Pictures soon!

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

Cool truck! You should start a new tread putting all you info in it and add to it as you go so everyone can follow, that's one mistake I made around here, didn't make a main thread now my stuff is all over the place in several threads, I guess at the time I figured who going to really give a crap about my truck, but that might still hold true lol.

I cant remember how long those chrome ones were. We built a shorter set years ago. When I had a stock gearset (high SLR). It would get on the bars hard and unload the tires. I'll measure my other ones and get back to you.

I measured the ones I have now. They are only 48". I built them just to keep it off the bumper. When I was unloading the tires that was back when the truck was on ladder bars. Cant remember how long the old ones were, I know at least a foot longer. I banged my shins on them enough times.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime

On another note we just got back from our first race-test session in Baytown. Got two hits Friday and two hits on Saturday. Last hit Saturday it went 10.896 @ 156.08. I was trying to use the same slicks I had but they are goners. My 60 fts were all over the place. I went out first round Sunday morning. I thought I was hot but I wasn't and gave up the stripe to a slow car. Im putting new slicks on it and getting ready for Tx Motorplex in two weeks.

I tried to put this in a window. This was a time trial against my buddy Jason Owens who was the runner up this weekend. He ran 147 on this pass. I was 7.74 @ 122 and 10.896 @ 156. This thing is a blast.

Thanks, was looking through your old pics and was just trying visualize how far mine are going to stick out (even though back of your box is shorter), my truck is over 4hrs away so can’t measure, my bars are suppose to be there today.

Sounds good, looks like it pulls real hard, be interesting to see what it would run all out now.

Thanks, I'm thinking it's running out of roll cage. No Funny Car cage in the plan.
