1972 GMC & Chevy Specific Paint Codes

Both GMC and Chevy had optional paint codes that were specific to that make. How common was it to see make specific colours on the opposite make? I have seen one or two SPIDS that show GMC exclusive paint colours on Chevys.

Were there ever any GMC's with the cool 525 grapefruit Chevy colour?

Re: 1972 GMC & Chevy Specific Paint Codes

I used to go by the Chevy-only/GMC-only color reference strictly until it occurred to me GM didn't really abide by that themselves. I have seen contradictions with most colors from factory on original paint trucks. For instance, Ochre was not supposed to be available on GMCs but I have seen many original paint Ochre GMCs

Re: 1972 GMC & Chevy Specific Paint Codes

I had a housepainter here that had a 525 Grapefruit, C1500. Ochre was very popular on GMC's here.
