Inspiration needed

My 83 K30 has been apart for months! Started as a cam and intake swap. I am trying to find the ambition to get it back on the road!

Re: Inspiration needed

I'm on the phone with 4wheelparts ordering a 4" lift. Maybe that will get me going.

Agree with a good kit and nice ride. Our straight axle trucks can be brutal with those few thick leaf front springs. I'm aware of ORD. I've had their kits before and read good things about Tuff County. I'll be using some of their parts. I've also had good luck with Skyjacker and 4 Wheel Parts has a pretty good price right now. I'm on a budget so spending my pennies wisely. ;-)

That lift with those hubcaps will look horrible! Remove the caps and send them to me and all will be good.

Re: Inspiration needed

this is my beater k30 with 3-4" lift and 255/85/16 on stock wheels and caps ( no sunsoaked not your caps )

the 255/85/16 is a skinny 33" tall tire . this keeps the stock look but taller .

I bought some tires. Picking up 16x7 Ford van wheels at the powdercoater today. Still haven't put the intake on.

Thanks. Those are 285/75's on 16x7 Ford rims. Barely fit with no lift. I think it needs a 2-1/2 springs in front then I'll see what the back needs to sit level.

Re: Inspiration needed

1" zero rate in the front and if 2 leaf front also add the 3rd leaf option .

i got 255/85/16 skinny version of them 285 tires and around 3" total lift .

It's already got 3 leaves and needs to go about 3" higher in the front to sit level like I want. I should probably use ORD's Tuff Country HD's but not sure about 2" or 3" as the originals have probably sagged over time. I wouldn't be upset if I got the 3", it was too high, and then had to add a small lift block on the back.

Re: Inspiration needed

if me i would go 2" hd . i plan to swap out these older fronts i got for some 2" tuff country HD packs . my rear is easy as its a flip kit and 6" shackles . so i could drop almost 1" easy with shorter shackles and reset pinion angle .

i like the look of 3" but wish it was a tad bit lower like the 2" packs would be . and HD packs for me with the plow setup .

and the color combo on your truck tugs HARD at my heart as thats the exact color my dads last truck was and a 83 on top of that .
