72 repro door panels with woodgrain inserts

As far as I know there is no repro 72 door panel made to accept the Cheyenne wood grain inserts.

1. Is that correct?
2. Has anyone modified the new panels to accept the wood grain inserts?
3. If so, does it look stock with the proper molding/recess etc.?
4. What products and colors have you used to match Saddle and Parchment for painting/dying plastic door panels and vinyl visors/headliners?

Thanks for your help. Feel free to post pictures of any or all of the above.

Re: 72 repro door panels with woodgrain inserts

Hello, I bought these a few years back. The wood grain was already on them, I think I got them from Chevyduty or LMC can't remember.

Re: 72 repro door panels with woodgrain inserts

Bill I have no first hand experience but I've read the repro 72 door panels fit poorly and won't accommodate the inserts. Maybe the inserts could be added with some modification. I have a re-dyed set of driver quality parchment panels I would part with if that helps. Shoot me a PM if interested. Pete

Re: 72 repro door panels with woodgrain inserts

The 72 repop panels fit so poorly I believe that Classicheartbeat (Wes) and GMCPaul don't even carry them. I have always used OEM so have never tried them, but if a specialized vendor refuses to carry them that's enough to make up my mind.

Re: 72 repro door panels with woodgrain inserts

Troy Sr.'s panels look so good, I was trying to find something like that. I wasn't aware that the abs panels fit so poorly. I thought the issue was that they didn't accept the wood grain panels. I was hoping that with a drill and the original chrome retainer ring I could make them work. That is not looking very promising based on the feedback so far.
Thanks for the input.

Anyone else have experience with these panels?
