He should become a paying member on this site. Great place to sell a 25 year collection. maybe give him a call and let him know. Craigslist is free , all the sellers on here pay memberships for that privilege.

Those are not the right ads for the 25 year collection. That’s just another local guy with alot of parts for sale.

Now that is funny. The original post is trying to help out a guy (Ken). And post #2 comes along and lists the CL ad for the original poster (the original poster is selling parts also). Meanwhile Ken's CL ad has disappeared. I think it was listed in the car-truck section and would not part the collection. I believe he wanted to sell it for one price.

I don't usually comment about ad quality. But for someone who wants to sell a 25 year collection of parts? vehicles? who knows what else. Its a pretty sad ad. Especially for $35,000.

I agree. It could be worth more or less than what he is asking. Some people think they have a gold mine and others might be underpriced.

I like the flatbed! Shouldn't this be on the message board?

I agree. A lot left to wonder. He can expect to answer a lot of questions. $35k and one across the yard picture of truck? Yes, this belongs in the message board... POOF!

From the ad: "There is so much more than I can say."

For $35k I think he should try.

And the flatbed isn't even listed... Maybe it's just the attention grabber that lures the prospective buyer in. Sounds like he's clearing out the back yard and doesn't want anyone to know it until they show up with 35K in hand.

I can buy several completed trucks for 35K.

Re: 25 year collection 67-72 Trucks & Parts

If I had a 25 year collection I’d have a lot to sell. I have a lot after 8 years. $25 out of $35K is pennies on the dollars for the focused audience this site provides. Not to mention this site has people that appreciate the parts and would pay more than the normal CL person. Just my opinion... I hope someone picked up the parts.

You have more trucks and parts than you can say for sale for only $35k?? What a bargain? I am envisioning all sorts of parts I hope are included. Hold everything! I'm hopping a plane and will see you tonight with cash in hand!

For $35k he will need to be able to say what he has. Unless he posts it's 35k at fifty cents on a dollar.

Re: 25 year collection 67-72 Trucks & Parts

There was an ad on here from Virginia with a collection for sale. That guy had a very thought out listing but not a ton of pictures. He struggled to sell his stuff and he was a regular seller on this site. I’m not bashing either person just showing that if you want to sell a collection, it’s a uphill endeavor. I could see selling it to someone like a vendor on here who understands the value of parts.

I know what you mean. Last year I bought an abandoned project. The guy had been stockpiling parts for years. Had enough good quality parts to build three trucks. At first I listed it as whole bunch of parts, but after a few days of stupid offers, I changed my tactics.

It took a bit longer but I started listing 5-10 listings at a time. I think when I listed the big group people thought they could get a bigger deal. The real buyers realized very quickly that I had good parts. Those guys bought lots and got decent deals. It was worth the extra time though.

Re: 25 year collection 67-72 Trucks & Parts

That's a tough way to try and sell it. A person would need the means and the space to keep everything safe and sorted, then sell individual parts over a several year period. Would keep a retired person busy for a while.

I dont disagree, But it turned $5k into almost $20k plus I kept some very valuable parts for myself. I never would've gotten $20 if I sold it as a unit.

Yeah, this stash is worth $35k if it's worth $100k or more. You'd want to be getting that $35k back right quick I'd think and hopefully start reaping the benefits from that point on
