Hydro clutch

Hey guys,
I'm converting from 2wd over to 4wd. I just got a 1/2 ton 69 frame and a sm465/np205 to make the swap. My truck is auto now and I'm wanting to make it a manual when i swap over. The sm465 is out of an 85 1 ton and it had a hydro clutch. I would like to keep it, but I'm unsure what it will take to make it work. does anyone have experience with this type of mod? thanks
ian

I'm headed out to work on the burb so I don't have time to look anything up for you but if you type the words hydraulic clutch into the GOOGLE search box at the top of this page, click on the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks.com and click on the GOOGLE button you will find lots of threads on the subject. Just make sure the thread you are looking at refers to your style of truck. (Hits will include all years)

Re: Hydro clutch

I think that's the only way I'd have a manual trans truck. You can identify any guy who drives a stock spring clutch, because his left leg is 4 times bigger than the right.

Re: Hydro clutch

I just put a hydraulic clutch in my '69 with a T-56 last week. I welded a tab on the back of the clutch pedal and used a wilwood master with stock slave. It was pretty straight forward. I can get you pics if you want.

Re: Hydro clutch

I did a t5 with hydralic in my 69 , used the stock slave with wilwood master also. Took the stock camaro pedal for reference , drilled the stock truck pedal at the same ratio as the camaro , worked great!
