New Wheels or New Interior????

I'm at the point where I need a new change.

I know the purchase of wheels is a big investment, so that would mean Save, Save, Save. I have narrowed it down to my 2 wheel choices. Sizes I am leaning towards are 20x8.5 and 20x10.

Or do I go with new interior with the truck fund money I have now? I have always liked how a RED interior looked with silver trucks.

For interior I was thinking of a red non-scroll or houndstooth bench seat cover, red dashpad, red headliner with chrome trim, red carpet?. I wasn't planning on painting anything inside. Not sure what to do with my door panels either or arm rest. I need some ideas...Thanks in advance for your input and ideas. Not sure if forum member Truckseats is still around but I did send him a PM.

Re: New Wheels or New Interior????

I like your current wheels better than either new one so I'd go with the interior. I just sold a Chevelle, Cortez silver with red interior. Keep the sheet metal silver and replace the door panels and dash pad with red...it will pop! I do like the houndstooth!

Man... I think it looks great as is. Seriously. I would maybe redo the seat cover in a stock black vinyl.

Since you can't see your wheels while driving down the road and always see the interior, I think the red interior upgrade will make the biggest impact..

RED interior, nothing is any sexier than a silver truck with red interior! Well, maybe a blue truck with red interior, but still do the interior! Wheels look good as is!

do the wheels because more people will see them than an interior IMO

Re: New Wheels or New Interior????

As much as I like red interior I'd vote wheels. The last pic would be my choice. Nothing is sexier with silver than a nice set of billets.

Re: New Wheels or New Interior????

I say do the wheels, the right wheel can do everything for the looks of a vehicle and as previously stated, way more people will see the wheels. Oh and you can't go wrong with either of those Racelines.

I say do the interior, right now your wheels and interior looks good, but I think it will be very sexy with the red interior and its timeless.
Wheels change so much these days anyways, you may be able to add some later.

You don't have to worry about backspace with an interior! LOL! Seriously, there are several ways to select backspace. You can get a good idea on this board and usually the shop will mount one up to test fit if you're looking to buy. I usually find the stance I like and get the particulars from the owner. Good luck and remember chicks dig red interiors!

I seem to be leaning that way more and more. Only thing is I haven't seen the Raceline smuggler in a 20', only the 26' version on the red GMC.

Re: New Wheels or New Interior????

Both look nice already, and your old wheels are nicer than the proposed ones. Go detail your engine compartment, you sound bored :-)

Re: New Wheels or New Interior????

Naturally, appearance mods are completely subjective and there is nothing distasteful about your truck as it currently sits.

With that in mind, I would personally buy the wheels. I do think a larger diameter wheel (only buy the #2 wheel) would really give the truck an updated look. The interior looks clean and simple as it is, which is how it should be.

From a business perspective, you could sell your current wheels and tires, they will have a strong salvage value...your current interior does not.

When you weigh the money and the alternatives, wheels should be your first decision.

it's funny you mentioned the engine compartment, cause my buddy said the same thing. I told him that would be after wheels and interior...

appreciate your insight and way of thinking. I figured the sale of the current wheels shouldn't put me too far in the hole after purchasing the new set.
