Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

Well I have mastered taking the starter out of this truck. I have removed it 13 times could not stop it from jumping the ring gear and trying to strip the flywheel. I even got a new starter but still the same I finally got it meshed pretty good only kicked out once. Well it RUNS!!!! I got the the fuel system done and new filters. I also finished hooking up the oil pressure gauge. It needs to be timed I will bring the scanner from work and time it. It sounds great and nice and smooth. Oil pressure was almost to the end of the gauge if you revved it then it would peg. The turbo sounds great and the throttle response is awesome. I almost gave up on it after all the starter troubles but the wife kicked me in the butt and told me to figure it out. I wish I had a video but I was messing with the starter and didn't think about it.

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

I had went through this build thread from start to finish yesterday. I was looking for something and it occurred to me know one has said anything about the valve covers. Interesting.

I thought I saw double CDR ports but I just automatically assumed that was genius! Is there something else I missed? By the way, I am copying your double vent valve cover idea.

It will have crankcase evacuation. I wanted it to draw from both banks evenly. The valve cover fits no problem even the injector line bracket fits it.

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

I'll have to pm you my CDR plans for mine and see what you think. Are you going to run the CDR canisters? My plan eliminames them. what are you going to run for evacuation? A pump or venturi?

No CDR canisters. No pump. PM your plans.

Aw man... I shoulda thought about the PMD's. I have a stack of them. when I get the 6.5 in its new home I think I'm going to run through the stack and see if any of them are good. Glad to hear the ECM fixed the problem!

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

Is the CDR the thing that is on the crankcase system? with the tubes that go to the intake? I have a 6.2 that I would like to make look nicer, but I don't know whether I can just eliminate that can thing
