Dule Subarban's

here's a famous one from the movie Twister, I happened to see it a lot over by Eldora, IA when they were filming part of the movie near there, does anyone have any pictured of any Dule 'burbs? or know if they were all custom made or could be purchased?

Re: Dule Subarban's

I don't know if they were ever made by GM for the public....I'm guessing they made it for the movie to fit the equipment theme. It really doesn't make sense having a suburban with a dually setup. The dually's are made for towing heavy loads utilizing a goosneck or 5th wheel type setup in the bed. You cannot do that in a burb.

Question Re: Dule Subarban's

I understand that, I asked about it because 1 I wanted to do a 1 ton 4x4 Dule conversion to a old 3/4 ton Burb for pulling my 38' pintle hitch deck over flatbed, and 2 because I have seen more than one of these trucks in real life along with the one in the movie, I was wondering where to find the proper dule fenders cause all the ones I'v seen are not the same fenders as on the standerd dules? and also I was hoping for some better refrence pics being as there ain't squat on the web

Re: Dule Subarban's

my old 87

other than the duallie fenders made for a burb it is just wheel spacers front and rear and all stock 3/4 ton drivetrain

Re: Dule Subarban's

I`m certain GM never offered them from the factory. That is not to say a conversion coach builder never offered one. I know the cab and chassis dualie rears are narrower, and you can tuck them under the stock wheelwells, so you don`t need the dualie fenders. I`ve seen a few of these by me, were all the rage 10 or so yrs ago, Blazers and pickups at least. I did see one Burb like this the other day. The fenders on the movie rig look like narrowed stock truck dualie fenders.

Re: Dually Subarban's

ArrowCraft makes custom flares that fit the Burban....They have the gas door in them.

I always liked that rig in Twister. I have been trying to find the exact same bumper from that truck for a while now.

wow I need to sell the ones I build for what Buckstop gets outa theirs, expecually knowing that there arn't as many companys building bumpers for our trucks anymore

and after 3 years of major abuse haven't hardly damaged the powdercoating (just the cheep Brushgaurd that I through on and haven't built a HD replacement for yet)

yes I build them for sale, and no I do not discriminate aginst Ford, Jeep, Dodge or any other make of truck that needs bumpers, this is not a BST or a shameless Plug, I'm just saying Buckstop is expencive
